More design plans have been filed in Scottsdale for the redevelopment of Papago Plaza at McDowell and Scottsdale roads.

Pivot Development is redeveloping the shopping center property which was built in 1962. Its latest plans filed with the city of Scottsdale tout public art and murals as well as space to host arts and crafts festivals.

A 274-unit Alliance Residential apartment complex,  117-room Spring Hill Suites Hotel and ALDI grocery store are planned for the site.

The latest plans also outline a 250-space parking garage, 25,000-square feet of retail and restaurant space as well as designs that better to open the property to Scottsdale and McDowell Roads as well as the Papago Butte mountain vistas to west.

Papago Plaza is across the street from the ASU SkySong development and the McDowell Road corridor has been seeing other new and proposed developments.
