Plans to bring positive attention to the cities of Casa Grande and Eloy are progressing, according to the former’s mayor.

Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland updated attendees at the Economic Development Group of Eloy luncheon Thursday on some of the projects that the city is involved with.

“We’ve started moving dirt on the Lucid project so that’s a big, big deal,” McFarland said. “Hopefully we’re going to be pushing, with the county’s help, this whole technology corridor between Eloy, Coolidge and Casa Grande. It’s all starting to move, which is good. I can finally say that we’re moving dirt.”

Along with the actual facility for Lucid Motors, the city will work on building a training center as part of the agreement with the company. But according to McFarland it will help serve other industry in Eloy and Coolidge as well.
