The University of Arizona is adding cybersecurity and cyber operations to its offerings at its Chandler center.
Chandler is already home to Intel and other tech companies, and the UA hopes the programs help the technology workforce pipeline.
“As an emerging tech hub, Arizona is positioned to grow as a national leader in cybersecurity,” said Joel Hauff, associate vice president for academic initiatives and student success at the University of Arizona.
“The University of Arizona’s Applied Science degree in Cyber Operations ensures a pipeline of experts in Chandler, and throughout the state, who are ready to fill in-demand jobs and equipped to drive the next generation of tech security.”
The university already has some other technology and other degree programs in Chandler.
“Chandler’s skilled workforce has been the major driver behind the tech sector growth we have experienced over the years. We are thrilled that the University of Arizona is helping to develop the next generation of tech workers in Chandler,” said Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke.
