Glendale could expand medical marijuana buffer zones

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The city of Glendale is looking at expanding buffer zones between medical marijuana dispensaries and day care centers, parks, libraries and substance abuse treatment facilities.

Glendale’s current ordinance requires medical marijuana dispensaries to be at least 1,320 feet from schools.

The West Valley city is looking at expanding that ordinance requiring medical marijuana dispensaries to also be at least 1,320 feet from libraries, parks, day care centers and drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities.

The Glendale City Council is scheduled to hear about the changes at its Sept. 24 meeting.
