Asked to recall a difficult time in his career, Pinal County Manager Greg Stanley didn’t hesitate.
“At one point I was put on leave, and was pretty much told I was terminated. And then three days later I was named interim county manager.”
Stanley said partnerships and relationships are essential to good government, and it proved true for him personally at this uncertain time.
“I relate that to everybody in this room that helped stand up for me, and made it known that it shouldn’t be happening. … Getting encouraging calls from friends — City Council members from Casa Grande that I knew, sending me notes and calling. … I’m very appreciative of that, I appreciate the board (Pinal County Board of Supervisors) for having faith and trust in me.”
