Florence Historic District recommendations

On a list of factors influencing a historic district’s chances of success, consultants rated Florence “fair” in several areas, “good” in a few others, but gave the town no “very good” or “excellent” ratings.

The findings were presented Oct. 17 at a public meeting on the town’s forthcoming Redevelopment Plan update.

Although the town was rated “good” for its engaging historical themes, Bob Graham with Motley Design Group said he was “a little fuzzy” on what Florence’s theme actually is. “It should be on everybody’s lips,” he said.
