Pinal MMJ dispensary moves to supervisor vote

By Brain Wright | Casa Grande Dispatch

Pinal County doesn’t have any operating medical marijuana dispensaries, but that could change in the near future.

The county Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously last Thursday to recommend approval to the Board of Supervisors for a dispensary that would be just south of the Maricopa city limits. It was the second dispensary the commission has recommended for approval — the other would be in Dudleyville — but neither has made it to the board of supervisors for a final vote.

MMJAt tomorrow’s board meeting, supervisors are to decide whether to grant a special use permit to operate the dispensary in Dudleyville.

Planning commission Chairman Phillip “McD” Hartman said state law allows Pinal County to have up to eight medical marijuana dispensaries.
