(Disclosure: Rose Law Group represents Alliance Metals.)
The La Paz County Board of Supervisors has cancelled a meeting today in Wenden on a $30 million economic development project proposed by Alliance Metals.
The Board was slated to consider a rezoning request from Alliance Metals but has postponed the meeting at the Centennial Community Center in Wenden after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control recommended the cancellation of meeting and events of more than 50 people in response to the Coronavirus.
Alliance Metals has plans for an aluminum manufacturing and recycling facility in the McMullen Valley between Wenden and Salome. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has granted Alliance an air quality permit for the project. Alliance’s property is the site of a closed-down cotton gin.
No date has been set yet for the Board of Supervisors to consider Alliance’s zoning application.
