The city of Goodyear is launching new digital and social media programs with local artists and musicians as residents and workers stay at home in response to the Coronavirus and its economic fallout.
Goodyear is developing virtual opportunities through the city’s social media channels to broadcast concerts as well as dance, guitar and bass lessons.
The effort is launching with a partnership with Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers to live stream concerts starting each day this week. They can be seen at 1:00 p.m. at facebook.com/acsolidrock.
The city plans on developing more virtual arts classes and programs with local artists, according to Guylene Ozlanski, Goodyear Arts and Culture Administrator.
“Art has a way of generating optimism and happiness,” said Ozlanski. “Especially music, it touches people emotionally and during this difficult time, we hope families will enjoy this new way to connect with the outside world and experience arts at home.”
