Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport saw 3.78 million travelers in February, according to new numbers released this morning.
That was up 6.4 percent from last February. It was, of course, before this month’s dramatic and unprecedented drop in air travel due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
For the first two months of 2020, there have been 7.62 million passengers flying in and out of Sky Harbor up 5.2 percent from last year’s 7.24 million.
That will all change with travel, tourism and many businesses shut down this month and into April.
Air cargo, which could be up due to the virus via increases in medical shipments and e-commerce purchases, was up 7.9 percent in February 2020 versus February 2019. Sky Harbor saw 32,654 tons of freight this February compared to 30,263 tons a year ago.
