Arizona now ranks 39th among U.S. states in terms of how aggressive its response has been to the COVID-19 pandemic according to updated research from WalletHub.
The financial research firm has been tracking the impacts and responses to the Coronavirus. New York has been most aggressive with business closures, shelter in place orders and restrictions on public gatherings. Oklahoma, South Dakota and Nebraska have been the least restrictive so far, according to WalletHub.
Arizona ranks 39th in terms of the ‘aggressiveness’ of the state’s response to the pandemic. California ranks 18th, Florida 44th and Texas 42nd.

WalletHub also looked at Google search trends to see where there have been increases in searches for loans with the pandemic prompting record unemployment insurance claims and threatening small businesses.
South Carolina, the District of Columbia, Virginia, Alabama and New York had the biggest increases in loan interest. Arizona ranks 27th while North Dakota, Wyoming and Montana had the lowest increased searches for various loans.
There are now more than 401,000 Coronavirus cases in the U.S. with 12,905 deaths. Forty six percent of all the U.S. cases are in New York and New Jersey and 52 percent of the COVID-19 deaths so far also in those two states.
Arizona has 2,575 Coronavirus cases and 73 deaths.
