Housing construction hasn’t slowed in Casa Grande

CASA GRANDE — The number of permits for new houses in Casa Grande has continued to grow despite the COVID-19 outbreak.

Between Jan. 1 and March 31, the city saw 211 requests for permits for new single-family homes worth a total of $46,461,306, a more than 11% increase over the 190 permits worth $43,215,700 the city had during the same time period last year, according to city of Casa Grande reports.

The city also issued five permits for new additions and 10 permits for renovations to existing homes between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2020. It also issued 15 permits for new manufactured homes, four permits for new commercial buildings as well as two permits for additions and 26 permits for renovations to commercial buildings.
