(Scottsdale, Ariz.) The Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association is continuing its efforts to assist the community during the Coronavirus crisis. After receiving additional donations the Association is using the funds to buy meals from local restaurants which will be distributed to seniors and others in need of assistance.
On Friday May 1st, The Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association is partnering with the Daily Dose Restaurant in Scottsdale to provide meals for 100 seniors in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale’s Human Services Division.
For media wishing to cover this story, Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association members will be picking up the meals from the Daily Dose located at 4020 North Scottsdale Road at 8:30am Friday morning.
On Saturday the Association is partnering with Casa Mia Italian Restaurant and Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church to provide 150 lasagna dinners to a group of pre-selected families in need of assistance.
Fire Fighter Association members and volunteers will be distributing those meals Saturday May 2nd from noon to 2pm in the parking lot of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 10815 N. 84th Street in Scottsdale.
Additional food assistance is also planned over the next two weeks.
The Scottsdale Firefighter’s Association is addressing two needs in this effort. It is providing much needed business for local restaurants and food assistance for those in need of help due to a loss of income resulting from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Association has also been promoting local restaurants on its Facebook page.
Sasha Weller, President of the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association said, “Our local restaurants provide much needed tax revenue which funds first responders. And our Association is always ready to help those in need. This effort helps us achieve two important goals at the same time. Our thanks to all who have contributed to make this possible.”
The Scottsdale Firefighters Association is an association of professional firefighters, EMTS, and paramedics from Scottsdale, Arizona that work hard to better the community in which we serve by delivering world-class Fire and Medical Services, performing charitable works for the community, and by showing the community we serve that “We’re Here For You.” Its primary fundraiser is the annual Scottsdale Firefighter Charities Dinner which is traditionally held in September.
