Extensions allowed for development permits in Mesa due to COVID-19

Mesa, AZ – Development within the City of Mesa is critical for the economy and health of the City, businesses and the community. The City of Mesa recognizes that the unique circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic may require developers to temporarily delay certain projects. As a result, development permits, including planning and zoning approvals and construction permits may be extended simply by calling the City of Mesa Development Services Department. Mesa will not be charging fees for requests for extension of permits delayed due to the pandemic.
For assistance on requesting extension of permits or land use approvals, contact Development Services Small Business Assistant Heather Omta at (480) 644-5600 or heather.omta@mesaaz.gov.
