A new report by PropertyShark.com outlines what size house $250,000 is able to buy in the largest 100 U.S. cities.
In Arizona, the housing dollar goes farthest in Tucson where $250,000 can buy 2,282 square feet and the least in Scottsdale where it only buys 971 square feet.
According to the report, $250,000 buys between 1,602 square feet and 1,379 square feet in Mesa, Phoenix, Glendale, Gilbert, and Chandler.
While Scottsdale is pricey, it offers more space for $250,000 than expensive big cities. The purchase amount can only bring 232 square feet in Manhattan, 269 square feet in San Francisco, 477 in D.C. and 506 square feet in Long Beach.
The most affordable markets are Detroit (5,407 square feet), Cleveland (4,667 square feet) and Buffalo (4,145 square feet), according to PropertyShark.
