Gilbert to finalize development, infrastructure deal for new homes

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Gilbert Town Council is slated to put the finishing touches on a development agreement and infrastructure improvements near Val Vista Drive and Riggs Road.

The deal calls for Gilbert to reimburse Desert Vista 100 LLC (Blandford Homes) and Lennar Arizona $275,000 for their acquisition of utility and wastewater easements for a planned 80-acre single-family residential development.

Plans call for new wastewater infrastructure to built to connect to the planned residential development. Gilbert gave preliminary approval to the deal in May.  Purchase of the land has since closed.

The Town Council will revisit, update and finalize the reimbursement deal and development agreement at its August 11th meeting.

The Gilbert housing market continues to be very popular with buyers and builders though the East Valley suburb has less available space for new homes as it grows.
