Jewish Community Campus eyes expansion, new health care facility in Scottsdale

By Mike Sunnucks | Rose Law Group Reporter

The Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus has submitted plans with the city of Scottsdale for development of a new residential health care facility and expansions of the Pardes Jewish Day School and the Martin Pear Jewish Community Center.

The city is being asked to rezone a 28.5-acre parcel next to the existing campus for the expansion.

The land at Scottsdale Road and Sweetwater Avenue is currently zoned for single family residential. The city is being asked to rezone the parcel as part of the Jewish Community Campus.

The property sits on 28.5 acres at Scottsdale Road and Sweetwater Avenue.Plans call for a 185-bed residential care facility with up to 55 specialized care and between 130 and 185 minimal care / independent living units.

The 114,530-square-foot Community Center would get a 10,000-square-foot expansion under the plans. The 56,430-square-foot Jewish Day School would also get a 10,000-square foot expansion. But the K-8 school would not expand beyond its current 350-student enrollment, according to plans file with the city of Scottsdale.

The land is currently vacant. The city is being asked for a text amendment and zoning change for the expansion.
