The Gilbert Town Council appointed Scott Anderson to serve as interim mayor until January following Jenn Daniels’ abrupt resignation last week.
The council then appointed Kathy Tilque to fill the rest of Anderson’s term as a council member. Tilque this month won election to a four-year term beginning in January.
Anderson, who was vice mayor, will lead the council for about five months, until an elected mayor fills the seat. Candidates Matt Nielsen and Brigette Peterson are vying for that position in a runoff on Nov. 3.
Anderson would then return to his role as a council member. He was reelected on Aug. 4 to another four-year council term, which begins in January.
