More housing won’t work for Glendale golf course land

For more than two years now, dozens of Glendale residents have been pleading with the city not to sell a city-owned golf course in their neighborhood, if nothing else but to preserve the green space.

The leader of that group said Thursday that, finally, the group’s thoughts have been validated.

The city’s Planning Commission voted unanimously on Thursday, with one member absent, to recommend that the Glendale City Council reject a rezoning request that would pave the way for the city to sell Glen Lakes Golf Course to a developer that plans to build a neighborhood on the site.
