Nick Porter stood outside the Scottsdale Unified School District offices on Tuesday with his three children and a sign that read: School is essential.Porter’s children usually attend Cherokee Elementary, but the Scottsdale dad has been managing their education from home during the pandemic, and he says it’s been difficult.
Porter said his wife, an emergency room doctor, can’t work from home, so he has stepped back from his career as a home builder to help his children with school during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
But the quality of his children’s education and their confidence has suffered, he said.
