Inside the new Adero Scottsdale, crews are delivering furniture to rooms, making beds and hanging pictures on walls. The clock is ticking down to an Oct. 15 deadline. That’s when the 177-room resort, offering sweeping views of the Four Peaks and McDowell Mountains, will open as part of Marriott’s Autograph collection.
The resort, which is in Fountain Hills and used to be the 32-room CopperWynd, has undergone an enormous transformation over a two-year period. An additional tower of rooms has been built, quintupling the number available, and 16 luxury suites with wraparound porches have been added. Bill Hinz is the owner and developer; Hawaii-based Aqua-Aston Hospitality is the management company.
“You have the location that everybody envies. You have that spot — that niche — that I think it is going to play well,” said Mark Demello, vice president of operations for Aqua-Aston Hospitality.
