Peoria to update sustainability plan

Over the years, the city of Peoria has invested in green technology such as solar panels, saving around $330,000 in electrical costs annually as well as shifting from sodium lights to LEDs, saving about $210,000 annually.

The city will continue along that path as it begins the process of enhancing and expanding its sustainability action plan, which will include performance measures to make the city greener.

City officials will begin gathering input for the plan from residents next month.
