Zone change for Lucid land given initial approval

Land to be part of the Lucid Motors building site was unanimously approved for rezoning Thursday night by the Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission.

The 80 acres in question is located on the northwest corner of Thornton Road and Selma Highway. The commission approved the city’s request to rezone the land from Urban Ranch to General Industrial.

The matter advances to the Casa Grande City Council for review at an upcoming meeting. The parcels are in the process of being annexed into the city limits to establish uniformity for future industrial development.
