State Dems elect officers

Democratic caucuses met today to elect new leadership teams for the state Senate and House.

The Yellow Sheet reports Chad Campbell remains House minority leader, and he will be joined by Ruben Gallego as assistant leader and Bruce Wheeler as whip.

In the Senate, Leah Landrum Taylor becomes the state’s first-ever African American female caucus. Linda Lopez will be assistant leader and Anna Tovar as whip. One source said the vote for all three Senate posts was 7-6.
