A little more than a year after ground was broken, students at Maricopa’s Central Arizona College branch will have their first opportunity to take classes at a new site in the spring semester.
The campus, located at 17495 N. Regent Drive, will host its first round of classes that range from painting and Asian cuisine to creative writing and income tax fundamentals for area students. The opening is the first step toward the completion of a 25-year project that includes a 720,000-square-foot school that can serve 20,000 students, and it comes about12 months after CAC began construction on the local campus.
“It’s been just a year,” said project manager Michael Margolis. “This is pretty darned amazing.”
Although the entire complex is still under construction, the school has one building ready to host classes and other options for classes are in place.
