A bill that would require a homeowner to notify a tenant in writing if the home is facing foreclosure or a trustee’s sale has been sent to Governor Jan Brewer for her action.
The bill, sponsored by Sen. Steve Smith (R-Maricopa) amends the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act to require the owner to provide written notice to tenants within five business days of receiving a notice of trustee’s sale. The law previously required notice only if a provision was in the lease.
