Bert Stratton resisted joining his family’s business for years before eventually giving in. He free-lanced for magazines and played music in bands – then finally went to work for his father’s property rental company in the suburbs of Cleveland. Now, with grown sons of his own – one a lawyer, another a musician – he’s looking for ways to get them to eventually join the business. In this conversation, he talks to host Dick Gordon about the sometimes-dirty business of managing rental properties and why so few young people are interested in it.
