Eloy doesn’t renew city manager’s contract

In a special meeting of the Eloy City Council on Monday, Council voted 4-3 not to renew City Manager Ruth Osuna’s contract, which was coming up for renewal on Dec. 6, 2013.

Osuna said that she asked the council to make a decision about her contract so that she as well as the council would “know what the plan is.”

Osuna has been with the city since November of 2010 and her employment contract with the city has been the subject of several council meetings; whether to renew her contract which is up Dec. 6, whether to renegotiate the contract, or whether to terminate the contract, with Osuna’s resignation also an option have been discussed before in council executive session.
