Casa Grande City Council to consider correction for area’s zoning

silver hawkCasa Grande Dispatch

The Casa Grande City Council on Monday will hold a public hearing and act on a related measure aimed at correcting a 12-year-old zoning oversight.

Before the council is a request to rezone the Silverhawk subdivision and parts of the Acacia Landing neighborhood from “Residential 3,” which allows only multifamily units, to “Residential 1,” a category typically associated with single-family homes.

The zone change would affect about 425 single- family houses — 267 in Acacia Landing and 158 in Silverhawk. The houses are now zoned R3, which allows only multifamily units.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 510 E. Florence Blvd. It is open to the public.
