Eleven potential Town Council candidates have requested paperwork from the Gilbert Town Clerk’s Office, and three of those hopefuls have already formed campaign committees in advance of an August primary election.

Incumbents Eddie Cook and Victor Petersen and challenger TJ Tillman have launched political committees. They can begin gathering the 1,000 signatures needed to make it onto the ballot this fall, according to the Clerk’s Office.

Councilman Jordan Ray also has requested a campaign packet but has not yet formed a committee, while Vice Mayor Ben Cooper — the final incumbent whose term is set to expire in January 2015 — says he remains undecided on seeking re-election.

Other Gilbert residents apparently considering a council campaign include Brigette Peterson, Michael Garcia, Mark Ishikawa, Jonathan Warshaw, Scott September, Jason Cvancara and Jeff Bowman.
