YMNBTRT (You might need bifocals to read this)

By Phil Riske, managing editor | Rose Law Group Reporter

It took me months to decipher all the abbreviations in my daughters’ text messages. Texting and e-mail shorthand are the way a generation younger than I communicate. So, I thought maybe it’s time we senior citizens had our own shorthand.

One of my kids offered up “Senior Texts,” as follows.

ATD: At the doctors

BFFBGU: Best friend fell but got up

BYOT: Bring your own teethdentures

SASM: Suffered a senior moment

IMHAO: Is my hearing aid on?

LMDO: Laughing my dentures out

OMGSIWG: Oh my god, sorry, it was gas

TTML: Talk to me louder

TBNTMMA: They better not take my Medicare away

TSVS: They’re selling Viagra soup
