Arizona remained second in the U.S. for its photovoltaic solar power installations in 2013, although those installations actually fell 41 percent from the previous year.
However, the new Solana concentrating solar plant outside of Gila Bend helped the state maintain its solar production levels by adding 280 megawatts to the mix, meaning total solar generated was off by only 2.5 percent from 2012.
