Wild horses, burros set for public adoption

wild_horse_and_burro.Par.56926.Image.-1.-1.1+(2)The Arizona Department of Corrections and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management say they will conduct a Horse Adoption Event in Florence this week, AP reports.

Officials say up for adoption will be 25 wild horses, 10 wild burros, three saddle-trained horses and two pack-trained burros. The event is set for Friday and Saturday at the Wild Horse & Burro Training Facility in Florence.

The Department of Corrections has partnered with the federal government to allow inmates to work with the animals to ensure they are ready for public adoption.

A public viewing of the horses and burros begins at 8 a.m. Friday. Adoptions are set for Saturday morning.
