Retail, multi-family zoning opposed in Florence

Some Magic Ranch neighbors were startled to receive notice that the town will consider multifamily residential and highway business zoning on 320 acres of state land.

The land, which the town refers to as its “Lookout Mountain II” rezoning case, is a rectangle bordered by Arizona Farms Road on the north and Heritage Road on the south. Hunt Highway cuts across the southwest corner of the property.
