Watchdog group faults Pinal jail conditions

A letter signed by immigrant detainees alleges widespread discrimination and abuses occurring at the Pinal County jail in Florence.

Detention Watch Network, a national watchdog organization for immigrant detainees, said in a statement that 150 detainees at the facility “signed and released” the letter, which documents “deplorable” conditions at the jail, which is run by Sheriff Paul Babeu.
