Growth and development was a major focus during Pinal County Supervisor Steve Miller’s town hall in Casa Grande on Wednesday evening.
Officials from several county departments appeared at Heritage Hall of The Museum of Casa Grande for a public-facing event between county officials and residents who sat around black-covered tables during the hour-and-a-half meeting centered on the future of the county’s development.
The event solicited commentary on a range of issues including the implications of the incorporation of San Tan Valley, transportation, detention officer retention, NIMBYism, water, data centers and the problem of illegal dumping.
Miller was joined by county officials Sheriff Ross Teeple, Recorder Dana Lewis, County Manager Leo Lew and Development Services Director Joe Ortiz, who took turns behind the microphone. In attendance were state representatives for the area, Teresa Martinez and Chris Lopez, both Republicans representing Legislative District 16.
