Online attacks color Pinal court clerk race

Weary of anonymous online attacks and rumors about the past, Republican clerk of the court challenger Amanda Stanford and her husband, Cody, decided to meet the whispers head-on.

In an exclusive interview with the Maricopa Monitor, the Stanfords talked about what had been a very trying few years of their marriage — a time when Cody was in jail and when the pair lost their cars to repossession and were forced to short-sell their home.

Amanda and Cody even separated for a time after he fell back off the wagon.

“Anytime I ever got into any trouble, I was under the influence,” Cody said.
