Once they started to add up all the costs, some Magic Ranch-area residents said annexation by the town of Florence began to look like less of a bargain. They also don’t care for the potential of becoming residents just in time to help cover some of the town’s big legal judgments.
The Florence Reminder asked to meet with a small group of annexation opponents to hear their concerns. The opponents responded with a request for a list of the newspaper’s questions so they could prepare a response together.
The town council took several steps last week in preparation for two major annexations that could bring more than 4,000 new residents into the town limits.
