Kiehne concedes: Tobin wins primary in CD1

Arizona House Speaker Andy Tobin will be the Republican nominee to take on U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District, as Republican Gary Kiehne, who was trailing Tobin by 324 votes with thousands of ballots left to count, conceded the race this afternoon.

Although early ballots have been counted and all polling precincts have reported their vote tallies, there are roughly 2,300 ballots left to be tabulated. About 1,900 are in Coconino County, where Tobin has so far won 46 percent of the vote, to Kiehne’s 32 percent.
