‘Sam Fox-type’ restaurant planned for Monti’s space

The Hayden House will keep its place in hospitality history with a new “Sam Fox-type” concept restaurant following Monti’s La Casa Vieja’s 58-year run.

“We’re going to restore the historic portion of the restaurant into a new space and operations,” said Douglas Wilson of Hayden House Tempe LLC and Douglas Wilson Cos. “We want to have a local ‘name’ restaurant in that space. It’s important to us and it’s important to the development.”

Wilson mentioned a “Sam Fox-type concept” as his objective. Fox Restaurant Concepts owns a number of popular brands for diners including True Food Kitchen, Arrogant Butcher and The Henry. A spokesperson for Fox told the Phoenix Business Journal the restaurant group is not considering opening one of their nameplates in the Hayden House.
