The consensus: McCain, who will be 80 on Election Day, is a marked man within his party, with potential primary challengers all but salivating over the chance to take him on. Schweikert, who just won a third term in the House, has the political skillset and support from the right that would make him a formidable contender, and he’s told local press he’s waiting until the holidays are over before announcing his intentions.
