Salt River Project (SRP) provides electric services to the San Tan Valley community. While the incentives previously offered by SRP to encourage residents to invest in solar have gone away, the number of people using solar has increased more than three times over the last year. APS however needed regulatory approval for the rate increase and the proposed $50-$100 per month fee per rooftop-solar customer was reduced to $5 per month. SRP however is a municipal utility, which means they are not subject to regulatory approval before putting additional fees in place.
