Sue Clark-Johnson, former ‘Republic’ publisher, has died – Our prayers with the family

Sue Clark-Johnson, a former Arizona Republic and azcentral.com publisher who later led Gannett’s community news division, has died at age 67 after a short illness

Known as a visionary, motivator, consensus builder and consummate multitasker, she started her career as a reporter at a small newspaper in upstate New York and quickly moved up corporate and industry ranks.

Clark-Johnson maintained a fondness for the Valley and a keen interest in Arizona’s future.
