Just years after legalizing medical marijuana, Arizona will be one of the next battleground states in the fight for the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Similar laws have been passed in Colorado, Washington and Alaska in recent years. Now, the Marijuana Policy Project of Arizona is poised to put the issue to Arizona voters next year.
Ryan Hurley, treasurer of the MPP of Arizona and a lawyer with Rose Law Group , said he thinks the national MPP is running the measure here, “because they think it’s going to pass.”
The most recent Arizona poll on the issue by the Behavior Research Center shows 51 percent of Arizonans support legalization and 41 percent are against it, according to the Arizona Capitol Times.
