Phoenix-based Alliance Residential Co., an apartment builder with a several big projects underway in Scottsdale and Phoenix, ranked as the nation’s largest multifamily housing developer in 2014, according to an industry group.
The company, which maintains its headquarters near 24th Street and Camelback Road in Phoenix, started construction on 7,500 apartments across the country last year, according to a report from the National Multifamily Housing Council. That was about 2,000 units more than the second-highest developer on the list, Mill Creek Residential Trust in Dallas.
Alliance owns or manages about three dozen apartment complexes in metro Phoenix — spanning from Peoria to Chandler — and has hundreds of new units under construction in Old Town Scottsdale and north Phoenix.
