Florence mayor wants look into alleged school cheating

Florence Mayor Tom Rankin wants the Florence school board to conduct an investigation into allegations of administrative encouragement to cheat on standardized testing at Florence K-8 School.

Rankin also alleged that John Allee was removed from his post as principal at Florence K-8 because of the students’ success in testing.

Rankin made his statements as a private citizen during a call to the public at the Florence Unified School District Governing Board’s June 9 regular meeting held at Poston Butte High School.
