Nine people, one seriously, were injured and taken to a hospital Saturday night after a rush on the stage stage at Tempe Beach Park when the band Revolution took the stage during the Summer Ends music festival.

There is no excuse for such crowd behavior where, at other venues, people have been killed.

Police and fire officials now have to play baby sitter to hundreds of so-called adults, reminding them heat and alcohol don’t mix.

A spokesperson for Tempe fire said firemen attended to a total of about 300 people Saturday, and heat and alcohol played a role in those patients’ ills.

Looks like we’ll have to have knucklehead patrols at future concerts.

Longing for the harmless concert days when girls threw their panties at Elvis instead of storming the stage.
