The battle to preserve Camelback Mountain has reignited once more.
A company named North Camelback LLC wants to build a large house at 5500 E. San Miguel Ave. nestled on the Paradise Valley side of Camelback Mountain. This wouldn’t be the first home on Camelback Mountain, but its proposed size and shape has more than a few Paradise Valley residents riled.
That’s because the proposed property exceeds several limits set by the town’s hillside ordinance – a set of unique rules that restrict what can be built on Camelback Mountain, Mummy Mountain and the Phoenix Mountains.
