Arizona State University is buying more land in downtown Phoenix.

The school is purchasing a vacant property on First Avenue south of Fillmore Street across from the Civic Space Park and north of the downtown YMCA.

ASU is buying the land for $4.6 million, according to Patrick Panetta, director of project management at the school.
