Women-owned businesses making big gains in Phoenix

The number of women-owned businesses in metro Phoenix increased by 64 percent since 2002, about one and a half times the pace of the rest of the U.S.

Phoenix has 137,000 women-owned businesses out of 369,000 Phoenix-area businesses. Women-owned companies in Phoenix employ 107,000 people and generate $18 billion in economic force to Arizona’s $546 billion economy.
